80th Birthday

Felipe Perera, one of the men from the small group of believers we work with, celebrated 80 years yesterday. Birthdays are a big deal here. If you are related or a good friend, you are expected to drop by and deliver greetings in person, or at least call in your congratulations. Our family went over around 7pm and we managed to get home by 10:30pm or so. We laughed too hard had far too much to eat...it was great! Yes, that's Natalia helping brother Felipe blow out the candle...

Some Warmer Weather

We haven't posted anything for a while--my apologies! As a result, this post is actually about the warm weather we had the week before last! Last week was rainy and cloudy and, though it has been sunny this week, it hasn't been warm.

Anyway, the week before last we had some nice days and one evening we headed down to the river and enjoyed some time outdoors. In the picture, Maria Emilia is playing with Josiah near an abandoned pier that only the fishermen use nowadays. Spring is right around the corner for us and we can hardly wait!
