Flooding...

When it rains heavily upstream (in our case in Brazil), it floods downstream. Though it's hardly a catastrophic flood, many businesses along the riverfront have had to close in the last few days and some of those who live in humble housing just outside of the city have had to move to higher ground. Though we live just downstream from a large hydroelectric dam that controls the river's flow, we still feel the effects of flooding when that facility is overwhelmed by the volume of the water.
