Fifth Sundays...

This Sunday, for the 2nd time since we've arrived in Salto, we took time as a congregation to praise the Lord during a special evening service. Earlier this year we agreed to dedicate the fifth Sunday of every month that has five Sundays to sharing testimonies and publicly expressing our thanks to God. Several more reticient members shared some of the deep sorrows that the Lord has carried them through these last months. It was an encouraging time despite the fact that some weren't able to attend.

He's Getting Bigger

Our neighbors across the street just had a baby boy--Federico. When they told us how much he weighed at birth, we were reminded just how tiny Elias was at birth. His current weight--after two months--is roughly the same as Federico's birth weight!

Back to School

Well, it's back to school here in Uruguay. We're still enjoying very warm weather, but I think most parents have had enough of a summer "break". Our kids seem OK with their new teachers and with some of the changes they are facing this year. Josiah's class, for example, was divided into two classes this year so he isn't with some of his friends from last year.
Kolette has been preparing materials to teach English to the kids at home. She has also had to sort out her schedules--having a newborn forces you to be creative.
School was cancelled yesterday & that was very unusual. School authorities were concerned about some severe thunderstorms with high winds. When many parents take their kids to school on a moped, I guess that is a very real concern. Our kids were content to have a day off after only two days in school!
